Summer Runs

Join like-minded Doddlers for our Tuesday Summer Runs, our social running highlight of each week throughout the summer. You’ll find like-minded company, spectacular scenery and food options to round of the evening.
These runs are organised by different club members each week in a variety of locations. They are great social occasions and we get to run through some beautiful Dorset countryside and coastal trails.
We start once the clocks change and enjoy these get-togethers all the way through until the end of September. Typically, we meet at 7pm for a 7.15pm start, or slightly earlier in April and September. There will be a choice of two or three distances to suit runners of various abilities, ranging from about 4 to 9 miles. We also welcome walkers and well behaved dogs.

28th April
Our next Summer Run is being organised by Ian Pollard from the Laycock Cider Barn Cafe, Purse Caundle.
Meet 6.30pm for a 6.45pm start.
Church Farm, Purse Caundle, Sherborne, DT9 5DY
There will be three running routes; Long - 8.5miles, Medium - 6 miles, Short - 4 miles, plus a 3 mile walking route.
Afterwards we are eating in the Cider Barn Cafe from 8.15pm, they are opening especially for us (drinks also available - cider, beer, wine, soft drinks etc).
The menu will be Lasagne, Salad and Chips, with a choice of either meat or vegetarian lasagne (gluten free), all made on the day by the owner. Cost will be between £15-£18 pp.
All food orders via foodorders@dorsetdoddlers.org by midnight Sunday 26th April please.

Our Recent Summer Runs
7th April – Another great turnout for Justin's summer run from Blandford. It was a lovely warm evening running around Bryanston Estate. Afterwards some of the runners enjoyed a meal at the Crown.

31st March – Thanks to Lynda for organising our first summer run from Shroton. We had a beautiful evening and enjoyed stunning views from the top of Hambledon Hill. Some of us enjoyed a lovely meal at the Cricketers. More photos on our Club Facebook page.
