Welcome to the 'The Stickler' - The Dorset 3 Peaks Challenge.

A friendly and popular running race organised by the Dorset Doddlers. It features over 1500ft of climbing across three peaks of Dorset: Okeford Hill Beacon, Hod Hill and Hambledon Hill (including the infamous and self named ‘Stickle Path’).

bramleyThis years race (28/10/12) will be our 'coming of age' seeing as it is our 18th anniversary year. Nevertheless, we like to think that this race stands the test of time and the course never fails to challenge and inspire runners in equal measure.

Runners' World users score this race as 91% in terms of overall satisfaction. Last year's runners commented...

“Best off-road race in Dorset, hard as nails, well organised excellent value.”

“Very enjoyable, tough hilly race with wonderful scenery and plenty of mud as well.”

“Excellent race as ever and one to look out for next year.”

“Great organisation as well with mile markers and plenty of marshals.”

Whether you are a returning runner or new to experience this well-loved event, we look forward to welcoming you on the Sunday 28th October 2012.

bramleySpecial thanks to our new sponsors for this year’s race. James’s Cheese produced aptly named and delicious cheeses for all our prize winners.

bramleyFurthermore, The Dorset Piddle Brewery were generous in providing real ales and French wine to our prize winners as well as a complimentary pint to our small army of marshals and helpers, without whom…

The Dorset Doddlers are once again indebted to the following supporters of the race:

The Anglo European Chiropractic College - for their free massages for sore limbs
The Shillingstone Primary School – for use of their car park
The Shillingstone Station Project – for use of the unique platform finish

Finally, huge thanks to the volunteers of the Shillingstone Church Centre for helping out and welcoming us so warmly in using their splendid new base.

On behalf of the Dorset Doddlers and all those involved in organising the race, I would like to thank you for your patronage this year and look forward to seeing you all on Sunday 28th October 2012.

Yours in running

James Rielly, The Stickler Race Director
