The Dorset Doddlers Running Club have been running around in circles since 1983. The club was originally formed by small group of runners who had just completed their first London Marathon and now has well over 100 members drawn from all over the county. Our main training sessions are held on Thursday at 7.00pm and all of our sessions are designed to cater, as far as possible, for mixed ability groups. See our training section for details of all our training sessions. |

On Tuesday evenings during the winter, we also meet at 6.30pm at the Blandford Forum Leisure Centre. Then, when the clocks change to BST, the Tuesday training is replaced by Cross-Country runs starting from various Pubs and beauty spots throughout Dorset. Longer organised group runs sometimes also take place on a Sunday, particularly in the months preceding the London Marathon and subject to local races. We also have two 'Beginners and Novices' groups who meet at 6.30 on Mondays in Sturminster Newton (all year) and at Blandford Forum Leisure Centre (BST only). |

We are also able to race each other, regardless of ability, by means of our 'Club Handicap Races' and our age related 'Club Championship'. Our club also organises various races throughout the year, including the The Stur Half and The Stickler both of which attract over 400 runners. Further details of all of the above, can be found on the appropriate page of this website. We are an inclusive and social bunch, who welcome runners of all abilities. If you are new to the area or new to running, you are most welcome to come and try us out. Whatever your goals are in running, our ethos is to encourage , improve and enjoy running. |
If you would like to join our friendly clubWhether you are... an experienced runner that is new to the area... someone that goes running and feels that it is time to join a club... or simply someone who is totally new to running... Just come along to any of the sessions mentioned in our training section and introduce yourself. You will be sure to get a warm welcome.
