About the club

Races:  The Doddlers organise several races every year (see Doddlers Race Series section) including The Sturminster 1/2 Marathon (Stur Half), The Stickler and The Hill Series.

Where we meet:  The club meets for a training session every Thursday evening, 7pm for 7.15pm start, at Sturminster Newton Leisure Centre, Honeymead Lane, Sturminster Newton, DT10 1ER.  Runners of all abilities are welcome.

Long Winter Runs:  Several club members are training for either a marathon or the Grizzly (or both). It is planned to organise long runs at weekends, so keep an eye on the Stop Press page for details of these.

Summer Runs:  Throughout the summer, members organise a variety of runs on a Tuesday evening - generally starting and finishing at a local pub!   See the Tuesday Runs section for information.

Club Kit: The contact for Doddler running kit is Karine Litton. 

Protective clothing:  Members must wear fluorescent vests for winter runs.

Subs:  £10 per annum, plus £5 for those registering as "competing members" with England Athletics (competing members pay at least £2 less to enter races organised under an EA permit).  Doddlers are expected to wear a club vest when running in races - cost £10. 

There is no charge for attending Doddlers training sessions, and changing rooms and showers are available at Sturminster and Blandford Leisure Centres. Download a membership form here.
