SUMMER RUNS
As
usual, the first few runs cover some of the course of the Wessex Ridgeway Relay
Race, and start promptly at 7pm, to make use of what light remains. The remainder of the season is down to
you. Alan Kerridge will be encouraging
you to organise a run on your favourite turf, from your favourite pub. It’s easy enough to do, and we’d like to
encourage our newer members to get involved.
Help and advice will be available if desired.
The
usual format involves meeting outside a pub at 7pm for a 7.15 start. This gives time to order food to be eaten
after the run, and to listen to the run briefing. There will usually be a choice of two or
three distances, ranging up to about 9 miles, to suit different inclinations
and abilities. Sometimes the course is
marked on the ground in an environmentally friendly way, and sometimes maps are
provided. Often it’s both.
