Welcome to the Dorset Doddlers
The Dorset Doddlers have been running since 1983, 25 years ago. The club was originally formed by small group of runners who had just completed their first London Marathon. The club has grown and now has almost 100 members. Those members are drawn from all over Dorset and come in all shapes, sizes and abilities!
Where we meet
The club is based in Sturminster Newton at the Leisure Centre and holds weekly training sessions throughout the year as well as a number of social activities.
Our main training night is on a Thursday. Following a brief meeting for announcements at 7pm, the session begins at 7.15pm.
When lighter evenings allow, we also meet on Tuesdays for pub based runs all over the area. In the darker months, we meet at either Blandford Leisure Centre or every 2nd Tuesday we run the hills of Shaftesbury..
We also like to Race
Doddlers can be spotted at many of the races in the area.
But it isn't just about winning races – although that is nice! Competing Doddlers are Doddlers who get out there and run.
